About

I orginally set up Helen’s Sports Therapy Clinic in 2005, having graduated from Chichester University with a BSc(Hons) in Sports Therapy. In 2008 I became part of Aberystwyth Sports Injury Clinic joining founder and now good friend Kristy Dahill.

For many years I worked with Aberaeron and Newcastle Emlyn Rugby Clubs providing match day first aid, pitch side assistance and Sports Therapy treatment. I’ve also provided support and treatment at Aberaeron Rugby 7’s  Festival for many years.

I’m a keen horse rider with a passion for eventing. In my spare time I compete regularly with British Eventing all over the UK as well as competing locally in both Dressage and Showjumping.

In 2015 I discovered that Pilates improved my riding which lead me to researching Pilates for horse riders. This began my Equipilates™ journey which led me to gaining a YMCA level 3 Pilates Matwork qualification after training with the inspiration and fabulous Rachel Rafiefar. I then completed further training with the amazing Lindsay Wilcox-Reid to gain my Rider Biomechanics Trainer qualification. In 2020 gaining my Advanced Equipilates Biomechanics Trainer™ – I am currently the only trainer with this qualification in Wales.

I have also completed The Franklin Method Equestrian – Franklin Ball Certified course. I am currently the only Certified trainer in Wales.

In 2020 I successfully passed The Thoughtful Body™ Pregnancy and Postnatal Postgraduate and Qualification Mamas Pilates and the Active IQ Level 3 Award in Supporting Pre and Postnatal Clients with Exercise and Nutrition.

I also have a young family who keep me on my toes and ensure I am never sat still enjoying cycling, ponies and motorbikes!
